Conference Dinner

*Money paid for conference dinner (HKD 150 / USD 20) covers only part of the dinner cost which is estimated to be HKD 250 - 350 per person. The rest of the dinner cost will be covered by sponsors.

  • By Bank Transfer (Telegraphic Transfer) 

Delegates of ICKM 2009 could pay the registration fee by bank transfer from the bank in your region to the HSBC bank account owned by the University of Hong Kong (accept HKD / USD). Details of the HSBC bank account are as follows:

*For every participant, the basic registration fees include: 

   1.  Participation in all conference sessions

   2.  Conference proceedings in the Conference CD with an ISBN

   3.  Conference material (including program and conference give away)

   4.  Coffee breaks

 

*Participants may pay the optional items for: 

   1.  A book containing 30 best full papers of the conference

   2.  A conference dinner

 

Example: suppose someone (without any discount) and register as an early bird. And he/she wants to join the conference dinner and buy the book, then he/she will pay a total of HKD 3150 (USD 420).

 

*Reminders:

  • The conference accepts registration fee to be paid by bank transfer (telegraphic transfer) and credit card through the online system. Other payment methods like cheque / cash / bank draft will not be accepted.
  • Non-local registrants: These registrants are requested to bear the bank charge and processing fee charged by your own bank for the telegraphic transfer. There will also be the bank charge at the end of HSBC and the conference will bear the cost.
    • Registrants must write the remark mentioned above in the form when they perform the bank transfer so that the University of Hong Kong Finance Office will know the source of this income.
    • As soon as you have completed the bank transfer, please fax the remittance advice to the conference secretariat (CITE) at (852) 2517 7194 or email the scanned copy of the advice to ickm2009@gmail.com for us to verify the transaction.  Please kindly write down the participant’s name, date and time of transfer and country & city of origin on the advice.
  • Local registrants: Local participants in Hong Kong should transfer the money to the HSBC account and fax the remittance advice to us or by email. 
  • On top of the registration fee, registrants are requested to add to the total amount they need to pay if they would like to buy the conference book or to attend the conference dinner.

*Terms of cancellation:

Authors for articles included in the ICKM 2009 conference proceedings cannot cancel their registration.

All requests for refund will be processed and mailed after the ICKM 2009 conference dates.  Refund will be made in accordance with the following schedule:

  • For cancellation made on or before 30 September 2009, 30% of the total registration fee will be forfeited.
  • For cancellation made on or before 3 November 2009, 50% of the total registration fee will be forfeited.
  • For cancellation made after 3 November 2009, no refund will be made.

 

Accommodations:

Primarily serves as a guest house of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) for visiting scholars from overseas. It is situated in a scenic spot in HKU's main campus on the mid-levels on the western side of Hong Kong Island. It can be accessed by public transportation and a taxi ride from Central takes about ten minutes.

 

Conference rate: About HKD 500 (USD 65) per night - same rate for single and double occupancy.

Twenty rooms are reserved for the conference participants on a first-come, first-served basis; however, higher priority will be given to those intending to stay for 4 nights compared to those staying for only 3 nights.

It is located at the Western District on the Hong Kong Island over-looking the Victoria Harbour, within 10 minutes of the HKU main campus. The Macau ferry pier and the Central's business, entertainment & shopping district are also nearby.

 

  • Hong Kong Island Pacific Hotel

    The Hong Kong Island Pacific Hotel is one of the major hotels in the area and offers easy access to the Central business district. It is about 15 minutes away from the HKU main campus.

 

It is located amidst the traditional shops and restaurants of the old Hong Kong island district. Offers easy transport links  to the airport, ferry, business, and entertainment districts. The hotel is within 10 minutes away from the HKU main campus.

 

Some guest rooms are available at our student resident halls (at reasonable rates) for temporary accommodations. Several halls offer such rooms, and are located all within the surrounding area of the HKU main campus.
